We know that price changes are never welcome, but like many other businesses we’re experiencing increased costs. Gigaclear is making a considerable investment in creating and maintaining a full fibre network to bring faster and more reliable broadband to rural areas and small towns often overlooked by others. Costs to operate this network are continuing to rise and occasionally we need to review our pricing to ensure that we can continue to provide fast broadband and reliable service for years to come.
The new prices will take effect on the bill sent in April covering the period of April through to May with dates depending on your billing day.
For customers with short term offers (6 months or less) on their accounts, any price changes will be delayed until after the completion of the offer.
CPI means the Consumer Price Index which is published by the Office for National Statistics and is a measure of the average change in the prices of goods and services purchased by most households in the UK from one year to the next. It is a type of measure of inflation in the cost of goods and services.
Depending on when your current contract with Gigaclear started, your service terms may have included a price rise clause which linked any price increase to the level of CPI +3.5% to be applied within the contractual period. We have moved away from this way of applying percentage price rises in line with the rest of the consumer telecommunications industry.
Our approach now is to inform you of any price changes in the monthly subscription charges in pounds and pence rather than as a percentage. If you are not happy with the notified price changes then you have the right to contact us and cancel your contract within 30 days of receiving the notification. If you are within your minimum term and we notify you of a price change then you will not pay any early termination charges if you choose to cancel, provided you notify us of your decision to cancel within 30 days of receiving the notification.

We will give at least 30 days’ notice of any price change on your bill. This means that the first bill after our notification of a price change may still refer to the existing monthly amount you pay. The new monthly price will be applied to your bill from April and onwards.
or customers informed of a change in the price of their monthly subscription charges, the value of any discounts on your bill will not change. The list price of the services on the bill will increase, but the discount value will stay the same. Overall, this will result in a net price increase in the overall monthly subscription charge of the amount you will have been informed of by email with the duration and amount of any discount remaining unaffected by the change.
We have decided not to apply the price change to the cost of Smart WiFi services.
The pricing for Home Phone will increase by £1 per month for customers who ordered before December 23, 2024. The service still offers exceptional value compared to voice services offered by other broadband companies.
