No, if you don’t have an existing number Gigaclear will provide you with one. Once you have gone through the ordering process, a new number will be generated, and you will be notified of it on completion of your order.
You will know if a voicemail has been left as the dial tone will beep rapidly 3 times when you lift the handset. You can access voicemails by dialling 1571 on your handset.
No. A special handset is not required. Your existing handset will work with the Gigaclear Home Phone by plugging it into the phone adaptor that we provide. If you have a multi-handset cordless phone system, just make sure that the base unit is plugged into the adaptor and all of the other handsets in the system will work.

New Broadband customers: Billing will commence as soon as the engineer has installed and activated your Home Phone equipment, once they have installed the Broadband.
Existing customers: Billing will commence as soon as you receive the Home Phone equipment in the post. Therefore, please install the equipment straight away to make the most of your service.
As Gigaclear’s Home Phone service is provided over our fibre broadband connection, it will not work if there is a power or network outage affecting your home. Services such as Redcare or ADT, which rely on a traditional copper-wire landline, are not supported by Gigaclear.
If these services are active on your existing phone line and you wish to continue using them, then you will need to retain a traditional copper-wire landline service.

No, to use Gigaclear’s phone service you must purchase an inclusive call package.
The Gigaclear Home Phone service works through your broadband connection; therefore, your copper-wire BT sockets will no longer work. To use multiple handsets around your home, you can use any multi-handset cordless phone system. These systems are widely available for purchase with 2, 3 or 4 handsets in a package. By connecting the base unit of the cordless phone system into the Home Phone adaptor that we provide, all of the handsets in the system will work.
Gigaclear will not add phone numbers to phone directories as part of its service.
However, if you are transferring your number to Gigaclear, and you already subscribe to directory services, just let us know when ordering and your directory service subscription will also move across.
No, Voice over IP services such as Gigaclear Home Phone cannot call local number without dialling the area code. To call a local number make sure you dial the area code (e.g. 0207 for Central London) when making the call.
Yes, you can. Please let us know the phone number you wish to keep and your current provider when placing your order and we’ll sort the rest. The process to transfer your existing number takes up to 10 working days from the phone installation. We’ll keep you updated by email with the date the transfer will happen, and once it has completed.
Important information:
Do not cancel your old phone service until your Home Phone service is active and your number has been successfully transferred to Gigaclear Home Phone, or your number may be permanently lost as a result. We will email you when the process of transferring your number is complete, after which you can cancel your old service.

Home Phone users are allocated a temporary number that can be used while your own phone number is being transferred to us. Until your existing phone number has transferred across to our network, you can continue to use your existing phone number and/or the new temporary number we provide to you.
