We’re celebrating, the 10,000th customer to go live on our ultrafast broadband service has received in celebration a smart Samsung 4K TV from the company’s Chief Executive, Matthew Hare, so that they can fully take advantage of their new ultrafast Internet speeds. The Roberts family, who are from a village near Cirencester in Gloucestershire, will be able to access broadband speeds up to 1Gbps, which is 33 times faster* than the UK average, now that they have joined the thousands of households and businesses connected to Gigaclear’s service.
David Roberts, the homeowner, said: “I spend a lot of time on the computer doing aviation work, so speed is important, particularly as I communicate with different teams around Europe. The company has been brilliant in keeping us updated on progress; it has great customer service and the installation team was incredibly efficient. As an ex-businessman myself, I appreciate it when companies put themselves in the customer’s position. We can’t wait to go live today and would like to congratulate Gigaclear on reaching such a terrific milestone. We’re honoured to be the 10,000th customer.”
As a Gigaclear customer, they will be able to download a three hour feature film in 53 seconds or 23 songs in just 1.6 seconds, and upload 200 photos in less than 9 seconds.
Matthew Hare, Chief Executive, said: “We delivered our first full fibre network in rural Rutland at the end of 2011 and I’m very proud that in just over five years, Gigaclear has become such a significant challenger in the rural broadband market.”
Our ultrafast fibre network connects homes and businesses in 13 counties across the South West, Midlands and South East. We already have contracts in place to expand the network, connecting many more thousands of homes and businesses to our completely new, full fibre network over the coming years.
Matthew Hare continued: “We are the only network delivering a totally futureproof, full fibre network that guarantees minimum upload and download speeds of 50Mbps and access to Gigabit speeds in rural areas and I am very much looking forward to bringing our service to many tens of thousands more customers in the future. This is just the beginning.”
