Gigaclear acquires Aylesbury Vale Broadband’s Network

As you have heard from Aylesbury Vale Broadband (AVB), Gigaclear has now purchased the AVB network. As a leading provider of full fibre broadband in rural areas, our focus over the coming months is to develop the infrastructure to ensure that you and your neighbours receive an ever-improving service.. We are planning significant further commercial investment in order to connect additional homes, which we hope you would agree is great news for the surrounding area.

As a valued customer of AVB, we are committed to making sure that there is a smooth transition of your service onto the Gigaclear network over the next few weeks.

What to do next

As our products differ slightly from AVB’s, we understand you might worry that you will have to pay a little bit extra each month. We would like to reassure you that, although we cannot offer the same package as the one that you currently receive from AVB, we have put together a great welcome plan for you:

  • If you are on AVB Superfast (30Mbps), we recommend that you switch to the Gigaclear H50 product, paying only £30 per month for the first twelve months, instead of our usual £41.30. This will save you £11.30 over standard Gigaclear prices.

  • If you are on AVB Superfast for Families (100Mbps), we recommend that you switch to the Gigaclear H100 product, paying only £38 per month for the first 12 months, instead of our usual £46.85. This will save you £8.85 over standard Gigaclear prices.

  • If you are on AVB Ultrafast (300Mbps), we recommend that you switch to the Gigaclear H1G product, paying only £76.60 per month, instead of your current £135. You save £58.40 over the AVB price and also receive a much faster speed.

  • If you are on AVB Business (100Mbps), we recommend that you switch to the Gigaclear B100 product, paying £65 per month, instead of your current £82.55. This will save you £17.55 over the AVB price.

You can of course select any other Gigaclear tariff at our standard rate but if you are happy with one of the special welcome packages we have suggested above and would like to continue your broadband service with Gigaclear, please call our dedicated AVB customer service line on 01865 664220. Our customer service team will answer any questions that you may have and will be happy to take your order and direct debit details during the call.

Please note that the welcome plan is available only to existing AVB customers for a 12-month term. We will notify you when you are close to the end of your contract, at which point you will need to switch to a standard Gigaclear product in order to continue your service.

As we undertake the work to connect the AVB network into the existing Gigaclear infrastructure, we will unfortunately incur a short interruption in your service. However, we will endeavour to make this interruption as short as possible and you can rest assured that our customer service team will provide you with notification well in advance.

We will keep your existing broadband service live until 31 January 2018. After this date, unless you have switched to Gigaclear, your broadband service will cease. Please call us on 01865 664220 to discuss our AVB offers and switch to Gigaclear.
